Brian Gouin is president of Strategic Design Services, LLC. SDS was founded in 2001 as an independent security consulting firm, specializing in security risk assessment, system design and project management for electronic burglary, fire, CCTV, access control, gate operator and monitoring facility systems.

Brian has extensive experience and training in electronic security hardware and software, industry installation best practices, and overall physical security. Previous to founding SDS, Brian owned a successful security installation company for many years. His company served hundreds of clients which designed, sold, and installed commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential burglary, fire, CCTV, access control, and gate operator systems. The company also actively participated in the design, installation, and review of many municipal monitoring station facilities.

Mr. Gouin is a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International). He is a Director of the Board for the IAPSC and is the Chairman of its Professional Certification and Bylaws committees. He is a Board Certified Security Consultant (CSC) as conferred by the IAPSC. He also holds the ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification, is a member of the ASIS item writing group, and an Instructor for its internationally recognized PSP and CPP certification programs. Brian speaks frequently on topics relating to physical security and consulting, and is a regular contributor to security industry books and publications.
